this is a common misconception, especially in western lash education, but it isn’t supported by any scientific research or cosmetic safety data. in reality, most lash lift systems developed and used in south korea are tga-based (ammonium thioglycolate).
the original korean lash lift method was formulated around a tga system — designed for controlled, customizable reduction and gentle softening of disulfide bonds when used with proper timing and technique. cysteamine-based formulas are newer alternatives, but not replacements, and both can be safe and effective when formulated and used correctly. for more information, read about the science behind TGA and cysteamine here.

this product is for professional use only. not intended for self-application
1) apply step 1 (perm cream) evenly onto the lashes from root to tip.
2) cover completely with plastic wrap or perm paper to retain moisture.
[optional: for fine or damaged lashes, or for extra precaution, remove step 1 from the lash tips halfway through the processing time. on healthy lashes, leaving it for the full 8–10 minutes will not cause damage]
3) after the recommended processing time (8-10 minutes), remove step 1 fully using a damp applicator.
[optional: apply a thin layer of the silk protein treatment to rehydrate and protect lashes]
4) apply step 2 (neutralizer) onto the lashes secured on the curling rod and leave for 8–10 minutes.
5) remove step 2 completely with a damp applicator to ensure no residue remains.
6) finish the lash lift with a thin layer of silk protein treatment or coating essence.
