maintaining your lash lift: daily habits to help it last
a lash lift is low-maintenance, but a few small habits can make a big difference in how long it lasts and how healthy your natural lashes stay
♡ day of your lash lift
- avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 4 hours
- skip mascara for the rest of the day
- try not to sleep on your face the first night
- throughout the day (and before bed), make sure your lashes aren’t bent, twisted, or pushed out of shape
- avoid hot steam and saunas for the next 2–3 days
♡ maintenance & daily habits
- mascara and false lashes are okay once healedwhen removing makeup, be gentle—use up-and-down motions rather than side-to-side. friction is the main cause of lash breakage.
- if you sleep on your face or side, you may wake up with lashes looking a little crimped (similar to bedhead)
- simply rinse your face and lashes in the morning and brush them back into place. a coating essence works best for this.
- most lash damage comes from friction—things like rubbing your eyes or sleeping directly on your lashes—so handle them gently.
- moisturizing your lashes after a lash lift is highly recommended
- for best results, use either a coating essence or a silk protein treatment:
- silk protein treatment → think of this like a leave-in conditioner for your lashes
- coating essence → think of this like a protective gel or hair oil; it hydrates, adds flexibility, and helps prevent breakage
♡ when to come back for your next lash lift
- i recommend waiting 8–10 weeks before your next lash lift, or until about 80% of the lashes have grown out and look straightthis timing helps prevent overprocessing and damage.
- a lash lift doesn’t “fall” — it grows out
- around the 4–6 week mark, you may notice an awkward phase where some lashes are lifted and others are straight. this is completely normal.
